The natural behavior of the animals is respected. Our sows have ample freedom of movement and can carry out their natural nesting behaviors with straw. The piglets are weaned at least ten days older than in traditional farms, and no growth promoters are used.

Our animals benefit from superior living areas and care. They are not kept in crates and enjoy twice the space normally allocated on pig farms in gestation. The pigs have access at all times to a lying area that is not slatted and bedded, with straw or sawdust to be comfortable. The pigs are well fed with a diet free of antibiotics and animal by-products.

Instead of animal meal or animal fat, our pigs are raised exclusively on corn, soybeanmeal, wheat, bread flour, peas and extruded soybeans plus dietary supplements including vitamins and minerals. This strict standard guarantees that our pork is the best you will have ever tasted.

Raising duBreton pork without antibiotics is better for your health because it minimizes the unnecessary exposure of bacteria to antibiotics. Traditional farming methods rely frequently on use of the same antibiotics given to people. Only designated pork breeds are raised on our farms, and all of our animals come from Canada. The result of these measures is leaner, superior meat with uniform colour and consistent quality. We are also select breeds to maximize the efficiency of all feed used with a view to reducing environmental impact.
Controlled feeding pratices
Our animals follow a balanced feed program designed by nutritionists and adapted to each phase of growth. Our feed contains corn, soy, wheat, barley, canola, wheat middlings, oats, vitamins and minerals from controlled sources to ensure end-to-end traceability on the production line. Proper feeding also results in meat that is more flavourful and tender with less fat.
Controlled production environment
Our producers’ farming methods are strictly controlled. Farming environments and hygiene are subject to regular inspections by industry professionals. All of our producers are accredited through the CQA Program and follow best practices for animal handling.
