Present in the Lower St. Lawrence region for more than 30 years, duBreton is proud to collaborate with the Hôtel Universel in Rivière-du-Loup, La Griffe and L'Estaminet restaurants to prepare more than 9,000 meals as part of the Cuisines solidaires of la Tablée des Chefs’ project. The objective is to cook and deliver these meals in the greater Rivière-du-Loup and Rimouski regions, via community organizations such as the Carrefour d'initiative populaire de Rivière-du-Loup to families in difficulty.
"The needs are much higher than at this time last year because of the pandemic. This initiative by La Tablée des Chefs, with the contribution of local businesses, gives us a good help to meet the demand," explains Karine Jean, Executive Director of the Carrefour d'initiative populaire. DuBreton contributed to the effort by donating more than 1,900 kg of pork.
Overall, the goal of Les Cuisines solidaires is to prepare and deliver 1,600,000 meals across the province.
