Why is this new “No cloning nor gene editing” logo appearing on your duBreton packaging?

Pas de clonage ni de modification

As Health Canada now authorizes the sale of pork from animals modified through gene editing, mention producers dont need to label it we felt it was essential to provide clear information to consumers. This logo guarantees that your meat comes from animals raised without any genetic manipulation technologies.

At duBreton, our mission has always been to produce meat that respects animals, nature and the trust of the families who choose us. Today, as gene editing technologies begin to appear in certain livestock production systems, we have chosen to reaffirm our values by adding a new certification to our packaging: “Verified no cloning or gene editing”.

This statement confirms that the pigs raised on our farms come exclusively from natural breeding lines. No cloning and no gene modification are used at any point in our production. For us, animal welfare and transparency are non negotiable. We firmly believe that trust comes from a simple and responsible approach. Respecting the natural pace of growth, relying on rigorous farming practices and letting animals grow as they are.

Choosing duBreton means choosing meat produced with consistency and integrity. This certification is for you. It ensures that you can make an informed choice that aligns with your values.
